Thought this deserved a new and obvious thread, but since HeeHee actually posted first at the bottom of the "Very Disappointed.." thread, I'll let him have the pleasure of bringing the good news:

I'll add that I agree completely. I'm loving the V4 beta; the $149 upgrade from v 3 looks to be every bit a value as the $149 (was it?) from v 2 to 3; that leaves about $150 for a DVD app that, for hardly more than the budget level tools, looks to compete with the ones costing much more. Thanks SOFO, you beat my expectations.

Yes, $300 is a great price unless you already paid that price (or even the discounted $200 email price I paid) for the encoder in the past month or so. Then you're paying $500-$600 to get what someone else is paying $300 for, all because you want DVDA and it isn't available separately. It's a perfectly legit concern. I've got an email into SOFO now on this issue but they'd have to sell me V4+DVD for $100 in order for me to be paying the same price as you for these three programs, which seems only fair. It's hinkey I tell ya.

So the buying Vegas+DVD straight costs 95c more than the upgrade special offer?

How long will the starting price of $299.95 be around? Will this end March 15 as well or earlier or later?
