Hey MyST, I have NEVER purchased anything from Sonicfoundry, the only thing I did
was download the Beta Vegas 4.0 + DVD.

I had asked them to email me when the Production version is available, and they did
with that $499.00 pricing good till mid March.

So I guess I am NOT a registered user?!

Well then, don't worry about having to have VV3.0 installed. V4 is a full product via the download. I would suggest after you download it, save that self-extracting file and after you receive your serial number, burn both to CD for safe keeping.
Download the manual also. I called a local place that does copies from PDF files, and for a printed, bound copy it's under $50.
After you get started, don't hesitate to come back with questions and comments.
I might be asking you for advice in the near future. :)

Ermmm. sorry to sound a tad "thick" - do I "Copy" the downloaded items straight to a CDR for safekeeping before I extract OR after? At the moment I can't seem to be able to copy any elements to a CD. I can copy one of the files back to "another" New folder on the HD. Any ideas?
