Hi 8 and Vegas input

Hi all,
I have a ton of stuff on Hi 8 and also VHS and Beta. I would like to inport them into vegas and work with that footage along with some DV stuff I have already imported. Whats the best way? Is there a device that I could use to connect my Hi8 and VCR and convert somehow to firewire? Or...should I go out and buy a capture card, but will that work with vegas?

Some people report using a little sharpening or unsharp mask on the captured analog video in VV. Search the forum for a thread on this.
