External Monitor Issue!!

Was I right?? To get to the point of it, I am using an ATI Rage 128 All-in-Wonder Board and was wondering if anyone knew how I could use it with the Vegas Video 3.0 External Monitor feature. Any help on this would be hugely appreciated.
Ciao for now!

While there are some older video-out cards that are supported under Vegas' "Video for Windows Standard", none of the newer cards support that.

The recommended way of doing external monitor is to use 1394 output, with an external D/A convertor or camcorder.

If you really want to use your VGA card's video out, you can, but Vegas won't know anything about it. For example, many Matrox cards (e.g., G400) let you select a portion of the main monitor's screen to be echoed on a second output as video. Line it up with where you put the Video Preview window. You could also use a hardware scan convertor to convert your single monitor output (or a portion thereof) to video, but a good scan convertor costs most than an external 1394 D/A convertor, such as the fine Canopus ADVC-100.
