High end editing system

Hi there! Has anyone out there ever setup Vegas with uncompress video capture such as Blackmagic decklink card? I know Sony has recently release V6 that accepts the decklink card. Would like to know the performance on that. I've notice quite a lot of postings about V6 bugs that's not been resolved as yet. But do you guys think it's possible to setup a high end system using VV?
If so, I'm assuming I'll have to use the SCSI hard drives.

Alternatively, if I choose to go with HDV (as in filming on Sony's new HDV and editing using VV) what kind of capture card can I use? The normal IEEE cards?

What other issues do I need to think about before I try to fix up a system on my own?

Anyone out there with answer to my stupid questions please help enlighten me. Thanks a zillion!

I have a feeling that Decklink won't be running reliably for another version. It was shown as a technology preview LAST year. A year later it still isn't frame accurate while digitizing. I guess you could use blackmagic's dig tool and then import into Vegas. Maybe that would work?

HDV just needs IEEE.

Thanks! I didn't think it would be stabilise as yet. Guess we just have to wait.

What about uncompress video? Any ideas on that? I'm wondering if I should upgrade my Vegas system so that I can do uncompress videos. Sort of like the high end system for Final Cut Pro which uses SCSI hard disk. Any comments on this?

Maybe they are updating.

How do you get uncompressed video out of the camera? Can you download uncompressed (4:4:4) HDV?

That's sort of the question I'm hoping get an answer to. I mean rather then transfer everything compressed into the system and working on compressed files. Is there a way to capture it as highend at possible like what you can do with FCP (using BlackMagic card and SCSI harddisk).

Any ideas?
