I did. I did on request though. Unless people actuatly WANT a highlights video, odds are it will be a waste of time (most likely the kids wanting it wil be seniors).

Plus, most schools have some type of AV dept. They might have some beef's with you. Plus they could complain about copyright's & whatnot (even if you own everything).

I'd ask around before doing this.

www.videoscout.net might be good for sports recruiting stuff.

I've been finding that most coaches and parents aren't willing to pay for a "pro" to shoot highlights that are put on a DVD. Either they are happy with the generally poor quality video shot by other parents, or they don't care anything about team highlights, only the highlights for their child.

We prepare 10-15 recruiting tapes every year. In every case we're editing from footage shot by a parent or, in many cases, footage shot for the high school coach and loaned to a parent so footage can be extracted for his/her child.

We've also done a few game tapes for local high schools, always at the request of the school: they've called us, never the other way round. There might be money in what you're proposing; it's certainly worth a try. The biggest challenge facing you, I suspect, will be in finding out whose permission you need to shoot games and then figuring out how to market the DVDs you create.

Email me if you want more specific information regarding our experiences.

Girl's Basketball

Powderpuff Football
