Hit Film?

Is the HitFilm Ultimate 2 included with the Vegas PRO 13 suite everything that Hit Film has to offer or is there a whole other batch of plugins you need to buy extra?

It is the full up version of Hitfilm Ultimate. They recently came out with a set of plugins that work with a variety of NLEs. They are not included, so if you want "everything" that Hitfilm has to offer you'd have to buy the group of plugs separately. Ultimate can do pretty much anything (+ more) that the plugs do, but you have to launch a hitfilm project to do it. The plugs offer internal to the NLE workflow.

The recently announced plug-ins for different NLE's offer a limited subset of the HitFilm Ultimate repertoire.
HitFilm Ultimate and the Express are really standalone apps that brings usefulness as a standalone app.

The plug-ins mentioned bring usefulness as a plug-in tool.

I wouldn't say that Ultimate and Express are completely standalone since they integrate reasonably well with VP. Rendering is not required at the Hitfilm level and can be done from VP timeline. This preserves your edit list in Hitfilm for updating edits from the VP timeline.

I think the VP Suite is a very good value.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking it was a good value also with everything else considered. Putting the software to practical use might be the trick.
