HitFilm Toolkit Pack Watermark

alderny wrote on 10/18/2017, 2:16 AM

I Have Movie Studio Suite Version 14 (build 148), which includes the HitFilm Toolkit Pack. This pack comprises 4-Point Color Gradient, Color Gradient, Fractal Noise and Lightning & Electricity. Although they work, I am unable to remove the HitFilm watermark. I have a key but can't find where to enter it, although it says that it is licenced to me when I open the HitFilm Toolkit Pack (desktop app).

Used Vegas Pro since about version 14

Vegas Pro 22 (VP20 also installed)

Win 11 Home 64 bit, always updated

Intel Core i5 13400F, 10 cores/16 threads

32GB DDR5 RAM, 5200

Intel Arc A750 Graphics card

MSI Pro B760M-A Motherboard

Try ask this on the hitfilm forum.

Don't have the product, but things I have in mind that you can try, is there any place to deactivate the license? perhaps try temporarily deactivate, and then reactivate again, then close Movie studio or Hitfilm, and open again.. is it helping?

Hi alderny
That is very strange.
The first time you open Vegas Movie Studio and apply one of the FX from Hitfilm Toolkit, the Activation Window is meant to appear. It then asks you to login to your Hitfilm Account or Create a New Account, and then from there you will enter your Serial Number for activation.

Make sure when you open Vegas Movie Studio and apply a HItfilm FX, that the activation window is not hiding behind your desktop or on a 2nd monitor if you have one attached.

Make sure the tabs in your Windows Taskbar at very bottom of screen, are not set to be combined. This can trick people sometimes into not seeing all your active windows. Right-click the Windows Taskbar and select Taskbar Settings. Find Combine Taskbar Buttons and set to Never.

There are two things I recommend you look at:
Do you know if you have a Hitfilm Account already created ?
Go to https://hitfilm.com/account and login if you have an account. Here you can manage your activations. If you see activations for Hitfilm Toolkit, deactivate all of them. Then re-open Vegas and apply an effect. This will force reactivation.

If you don't have a Hitfilm Account already, I recommend you uninstall Hitfilm Toolkit.
Then open your Windows Registry and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FXHOME\HitFilm Toolkit Pack
If you see the folder Hitfilm Tookit Pack, delete it.

Now reboot your computer and reinstall Hitfilm Toolkit.
Before you open Vegas, I recommend you reset the program.
Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon on Desktop to Boot program.
Window will pop up.
Select Delete all Cached Application Data and then press Yes.
This will restore program to Factory Default Settings.

Finally, open Vegas and apply a Hitfilm effect.
Hopefully the activation window will work this time - make sure you are connected to the Internet.

Regards
Derek

Thank you Dr Zen. I had been through most of what you recommended already, but hadn't gone into my HitFilm account to deactivated the Toolkit (I create an account when I tried HitFilm Express). Oddly, the activation window never did pop up, but the watermark has certainly gone. Everything is working fine now thanks, and I'm pleased with Vegas Movie Studio 14, which is far better than the Pinnacle Studio NLE that I was using until VMS14 came out. The only thing I miss are some of the better transitions. I have installed Pixelan Blur Master and that works very well, but it's a pity that the NewBlue transitions are so expensive. Sorry, I'm getting off topic...
