I know that there have been a lot of threads about AVCHD, but I am hoping that there are other users in my situation that can help me find a workaround. I bought the HMC150 as an event/wedding camera and was excited because it supposedly worked well with Vegas. It does... for the most part. What 8.0c does not handle is the 720 60p footage from the camera for the purpose of frame accurate slow motion. When you slow the AVCHD 60p footage down to 50% for 30p or 40% for 24p, the rendered MPEG-2 jumps around like it has been tazered. Quite entertaining actually. I have tried to encoded it to an AVI intermediate within Vegas and then slow it down - same problem. The only solution that I have found is using Cineform NEO HD to convert it to an AVI, and then slow down that AVI in Vegas - but that cost $500. Several people have reported similar issues, and I have now tried it on 3 computers with the same poor result. If anyone is aware of another cheaper quality converter that will convert AVCHD 60p to AVI, I would love to hear about it. Thanks.
