I wish it would. There are some really cool FX...lots of 3-D. By the way, I thought V4 was supposed to support 3-D. The stuff I've seen won't touch Hollywood FX Pro. Anybody know where I can get some preset 3-D FX to work with V4? Maybe Hollywood will make some now that Sony has it.

Satish has some cool 3D plugins for free.
Checkout www.debugmode.com
Also the displacement and height maps can create some effective 3D effects but you need to put some work in.

Anything can 'work' with VV or anythin else for that matter, it just becomes a matter of rendering out in a format it'll read. Sure it's not as conveninet as a plugin.

It is not likely that Hollywood FX Pro will ever work as a Vegas plug-in since Hollywood FX is owned by Pinnacle Systems and they have been steadily dropping support for 3rd party applications in favor of their own Pinnacle Edition software. So don’t expect them to make a plug-in for their competition.

That said, I use Hollywood FX Pro all the time with Vegas by using Studio 8 as the host. I export my clips in Vegas as a region, add the Hollywood FX transition with Studio 8 and import them back into Vegas. It’s not as clean as having a plug-in, but its about as good as its gonna get. Boris makes plug-ins for Vegas but they cost hundreds of dollars more than Hollywood FX.

I have Hollywood FX Pro It came as part of a bundle when I bought commotion Pro. I have had some success using it in AE. But not able to use the title FX. And I am ready to give up.

Does anyone know what the cheapest way TO use Hollywood pro and title deko using Pinnacle editing programs Is I just want the most basic editing program. Just to enable the titles?

Studio 7, if you can still get it, or studio 8. Studio 7 is very stable; S8 less so for some people. They can be purchased for very little money at this point.

I've seen Studio 8 for $29 US. Studio 9 will be out in the next two months...rumor is. Too bad Re:HFX Pro not being usable in V4, it does have some good effects. I'm not sure if I want to reinstall Studio 8 and put up with it's nasty moods, besides Studio dosen't like to play well others...(software).

Preliminary indication is that Studio 8 will co-exist with Vegas. I've been trying the Vegas demo SW for a couple of weeks with S8 still functioning on my machine, and no problems so far. Vegas 4 is under the tree waiting to be installed aa a full working version.

OT, but vegas demo availability was very appreciated, was considering Pinnacle Liquid Edition, but no trial version available, so could not consider it. I like whatr I see in Vegas.

> I've seen Studio 8 for $29 US

I bought it for $9 from outpost.com. Every once in a while they run a sale on it with a rebate. I think I paid $29 with $20 rebate or something like that. I swore I would not buy Studio 8 after buying Studio 7 but for $9, I figured I had nothing to loose. As I said, I just use it as a host for Hollywood FX and for SmartSound.

Actually, every indication is that they co-exist fine. I use them both simultaneously all the time. While Vegas is still open, I start up Studio, do my special effects, export and close Studio.

All you need to do is use your product key to unlock the demo. Chances are what’s under the tree is an older version (the latest is 4.0e) There is no difference between the demo and the full product (except for the key) ;-)
