Holy Chit - renders 2X faster in VegPro 9d 64?

So I just want to make sure all those substances I abused as a teenager haven't total destroyed my perceptual capacities: I just did a test and the same project renders twice as fast in Vegas Pro9d 64 as it does in Vegas Pro 8c 32 on same computer. Is anyone else seeing this? And if I'm not crazy, is there any reason not to upgrade to 9d 64? (The test project loaded instantly, previewed nicely and seemed to play fine with my Win 7 64 i5 VAIO laptop.)

plug-in and codec compatibility. That's all. In every other way 64 bits is way better.

Are you sure? I seem to remember reading here that for *simple projects" the 64 bit version was often slower.

I never read that and it hasn't been my experience. Maybe you could try to find where you read that it's slower and post links to those messages.
