Horizontal Lines on HDTV

When I play my rendered DVD on my 16:9 HDTV, horizontal bars (black areas) are present above and below the picture. All of my "store-bought" DVD's fill the entire screen. How can I get my Vegas DVD's todo so also?

Did you change the project settings in DVDA (file/properties...) to tell it this was a widescreen project?

Yes, the "project video format" in DVD Architect Studio is set to NTSC Widescreen 29 fps.
