I see we, you, them won the second test by just a couple of runs. I've got over missing bangers here in California, and I can live without Wheatabix in the mornings, but Oh for a good old-fashioned slow and uneventful test match!
Mike, "slow and uneventful" Test Matches are quite rare these days.
I remember yawning watching the likes of Geoff Boycott or Bill Lawry ... I even remember Trevor "Barnacle" Bailey!
This last one was played at frenetic pace for three and a bit days. England scored 400 on the first day and from then on the pace never stopped. It's a whole new game these days.
Oh I know. Nothing's the same any more. I remeber watching Geoff Boycot up at Harringate take 2 days and 3 hours to score 71. Pure poetic joy - like a slo-mo ballet. All this coloured pads and head gear makes me sick.
