How bout a SERIOUS grid?

PipelineAudio wrote on 6/25/2003, 8:29 PM
how about a way to show the grid CLEARLY when not snapping?
How bout a way to make the gridlines show 1/4 notes and such without snapping?
Tempo changes for the grid?

How about when you zoom in on the grid it splits to half the previous spacing???
WTF is this crap that goes all .023 and such that falls right off the click till you REALLY zoom in again???

YUCK!!!

if someone actually uses it with that weirdness then at least have an option to make it go halves instead as well ?

pretty please?

Is there something I am not doing right? In the manual it sure seems like the gridlines will show even if snapping is off. However, if I turn snapping off, the only way Ill see grid lines is if grid spacing is set to "ruler marks" I want it to show 1/4 or 8th notes

also is there a shortcut that disables snapping while still showing the same grid?

any options for gridline color or sight?

Pipe -
F8 turns on and off snapping
PipelineAudio wrote on 6/26/2003, 12:33 PM
but thast also turns the sight of the grid on and off right?
CDM wrote on 6/26/2003, 3:08 PM
not for me, but then again I have "snap to grid" permanently turned off, so it's always a dotted line
PipelineAudio wrote on 6/26/2003, 3:40 PM
but a really faint dotted line that doesnt show thru events right ?
CDM wrote on 6/26/2003, 5:16 PM
it shows through my events, yes. I see them everywhere. They're faint, but they're there

what are you using for grid spacing? only " ruler marks " seems to do this, as in original post. Are you still seeing the lines with other things selected? Like quarter notes?
CDM wrote on 6/27/2003, 9:09 AM
it looks exactly the same no matter what I have it set to.

not for you, huh?

Depending on the zoom ratio and track color, the girds all but disappear. I really wish there was a feature to "highlight" the grid lines to make them more visable when editing (something like what happens when you select the envelope edit tool). Its a real pain in the ass (eyes) right now and I spend a great deal more time zooming I/O to a point where the grids are visable enough and/or changing track colors than should be necessary. BTW, I have a 21" Sony CRT monitor - very sharp and clear.
