Have you tried right clicking on the file and see if a 'save as' option is availabe? That's the first step. Then you need to convert to AVI. Vegas can't open Real Movies directly (copyright thing) but it can save as rm files.

A quick search will produce several shareware converter programs, a freeware one TINRA (this is not real anymore) works faily well, but far from perfect which will allow you to convert the RM to AVI.

Media Cleaner 4 or 5 should do it for you, for sure version 5.

Check out Camtasia Studio from www.techsmith.com. This works well to record anything you can see (full screen, or an open window). It also works well for lossless screencapture. I used it to build an entire product demo. Chanimal.
