How can I get 720x480x24 video and 29.97 fps when capturing analog video?

If I capture analog video using VF 2.0, how can I configure it so it can give me 720x480x24 video and 29.97 fps? I have tried it, but it always gives me 352x240. Any way I can make it the same format as my video captured from dv cam???

Thanks a lot in advance.

The capture size/resolution is dependent upon your capture device, not necessarily the Software. What hardware are you using to capture with? Is there a list of the resolutions it can capture to?

Thanks for responding. I am capturing straight from my VCR, using Dazzle DVC 80 (USB connection). In addition to that, when I start capturing, the video becomes very jerky during and after capturing. I tried to get a list of capturing resolutions, but I can't find it.
Any leads on this DaveT2?

Thanks in advance.

USB is probably your culprit. Full broadcast quality video requires about a 160Mbps data transfer rate. DV requires about 30Mbps. USB only allows about 12Mbps (unless you have USB2 which allows something like 400Mbps, but very few consumer peripherals support USB2).

So, in summary, it just ain't gonna happen through a USB port. Sorry about that.

DaveT2 and Chienworks, Thank you for reponding. I will try DaveT2's info and try to get the best of it. I have posted another message in the forum, please check it and, if possible, provide me with feedback. Thanks a lot.
