How can I insert?

Let's say I finished my video, have several audio and video tracks. How can I insert something at the very beginning, like a movie title or whatever without messing up everything else.

The way I do it now is manually scoot everything over and hope I can get it lined back up the way it was.

You can do it by ripple editing. I think there is a button on top of the timeline window to on/off ripple editing feature.

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

Another way is to select everything, group it, and then just drag it out of the way. I prefer to work this way because I'm so disorganised that I always end up doing more edits than I'd expected. This way, I can play with the new intro to my heart's content and then slide the original stuff to wherever I want it. It's not the most efficient way of working, but it gives me confidence that I'm not going to mess up the work I've already done!
