How Change Options When Rendering

I have Vegas Pro 18. When I want to render a video, I want it to open the result immediately instead of opening the folder where it was saved. Not reading the Options window carefully enough (it doesn't stay open!) I mistakenly managed to check the box that says 'Open the folder', which it now does all the time. Even worse, it opens the folder anew with each next video rendered, so multiple open copies of the folder accumulate.

How can I (a) Get the Options window to stay open long enough that I can un-check the box to open the folder?

And (b) Tell it to simply open the just-created video automatically, which is what i wanted in the first place?

Relevant to (a) just above, I just noticed that the Options window (that always closes too quickly for me to change what I have checked) has a check box that says 'Close dialog when rendering is complete'. It is currently un-checked. But it closes the dialog anyway, doing the opposite of what it supposedly should be doing.

(I should mention that these videos are clips that last only about 3 or 4 seconds each. So the Options dialog window does not stay open very long. Maybe if I rendered something longer it would stay open long enough for me to un-check 'Open follder"? But that would not help my goal in (b).)

Thanks for your help.
