How do I adjust wmv profile?

I can't figure out how to adjust or create a new wmv profile. In Microsoft Movie Maker I can add new profiles to the profiles folder, I see no such folder in Movie Studio. When I click on Adnvance Render and select wmv as the file type the Custom button is grayed out and I can't change any settings.

I'm using Screenblast Movie Studio 3.0a. I just spent $90 bucks for this program because I was told that it supported .wmv but if I can't adjust the .wmv settings it's worthless.

MS 3 doesn't let you create custom wmv templates. You are stuck with the preset templates. Make sure to download MS 3.0a to get additional presets not available in the inital release.

If you want custom wmv templates, you have to either render to uncompressed or low compression AVI and import that file into an external encoder like the Windows Media Encoder or use Satish's frameserver and use an external encoder.

Not the most elegant solution, but it gets the job done.

If that's true I'll just go back to using Microsoft Movie Maker. I'd be waisting too much time if I had to render every movie twice.

Anyone want to buy a worthless movie editing program?

Just curious, but what settings do you want? The right template might already be there.

I need to be able to adjust the settings so I can adjust the size and quality of the video. I also need to render using variable bit rate encoding.

wmv variable bit rate files are about 1/3 smaller than constant bit rate with no loss in quality.
