How do I capture chapters from another DVD?

Hello

I just purchased this platinum 7.0. I initially wanted to use it to make a music video DVD compilation. I have a ton of DVDs full of music videos, and I want to extract my favorites from each and make one DVD.

After searching through all the options, help files, etc I can't figure out how to exract the chapters / videos from my DVDs?

Any help is appreciated!

Did you make the music dvd's?

If you made them , what method did you use?

Are they store bought dvd's?

Are they copyright protected dvd's?

Have you explored the dvd's with your computer to see what files there are and do you have a list? ( I am fishing around here to see if you are looking at a compilation or just a single big file (vob))

- no I did not, I bought them

- there are all different types, I have at least 30 different DVDs w/ music videos on them. I'm sure the files vary on each. But does that matter?? When I was using ulead movie factory, it was so simple to do this - it simply listed out all the chapters (from any dvd) and I could pick which ones I wanted, and it would save those chapters to individual MP2 files. Is it not possible to do this with vegas movie studio? I stopped using Ulead because it kept freezing up and was quite unstable. I head vegas was better, but I'm having trouble with this simple task...
