How do I capture stills from video already in my hard drive?

Can somebody please tell me how to capture stills (pictures) from video that I already captured from my camcorder???? I am using VF 2.0.

Look for the little floppy disk icon just above the upper right corner of the preview frame. Clicking on this will capture whatever frame of your video you have displayed and store it as a .jpg file.

This function is a "print-screen" type function in that it captures the still at exactly the same size as it's displayed on your screen. If you want to get a full size still, you'll have to rearrange your screen to get the preview window to full size.

You can just right-click on the preview window and select "Display at project size" before taking the snapshot to get a full-size capture. No need to resize your preview window.

Also, you may experience jitter if you take a snapshot of a fast motion scene or if you pan/zoom the still. If you want jitter-free stills, temporarily set your project properties to "Progressive" before taking the snapshot.
