How Do I Change Video Frame Size to Fit Vimeo ?

Hi - I am trying to embed my video into my web page using Vimeo Pro. My Video is currently 640 x 360 using the internet 360 16:9 template.

My problem is that the video that is produced by Vimeo is 570 x 381.

At this size it is too big - I want 570 by 340. I have tried adjusting the height in the embed code and Vimeo dynamically changes the width - giving me blacj bars left and right.

Question: Should I be rendering this differently - to help it fit the size I want ??

Many Thanks !!

The Vimeo API "should" be easy to change -- I used to do it all the time with Youtube.

Another alternative, that gives you almost unlimited control, is to embed the free JW Player and host the content yourself. There is a learning curve.

I guess what I am indirectly asking is, is there anything I can do to optimize my video for use with Vimeo to deliver the size I want. Perhaps a different sized template .. I don't know
Essentially I want a final product which looks like it were 16:9 but because the source videos are from shutterstock and are 854 x 480 I don't how to get them down to 570 x 340 approx.

Thanks !

If your source video is 854x480, then it is already 16:9.

Your chosen display aspect, 570x340, is
It is 5/3, or 15:9

So you will either crop the sides or stretch your video to fit. Or live with black lines.
There is no third choice unfortunately, unless you size the player to fit your video aspect (as mentioned).

Ok Understood - How do I go about stretching or cropping the video to fit the frame ? I can see how to do it on a clip by clip basis using pan/crop . but how do I do it for a whole video ?

Copy an event that you've cropped to suit (we don't call it a "clip"), select the other events, and "Paste Event Attributes". I do suggest using Event Pan/Crop, and not Track Motion for this task.

Ok - does that mean I have to select and paste to every clip ? I mean my video is quite long with dozens of clips. Is there some way I can just apply it in "one hit" ?

Many thanks

Yes!

With the selection edit tool, select all the events (they are not "clips") you wish to paste the attributes to, and paste the attributes. Or look at Help->Keyboard Shortcuts for other selection options.
Two clicks and done. It works just like Windows ;?)

If you are asking for a script to do this, they are available in Vegas Pro. Best of luck.

You can select all the events at once by clicking the first one then hold shift and click the last one. This way you can paste event attributes to all of them at once. Keep in mind that this will overwrite any individual unique attributes that you want to keep. So it's a good idea to do it first before you starting messing with editing other things.
