How do I delete time from timeline??

I searched previous posts, but could not find anything on how to delete time from timeline. I am quite new to vegas and have a project with 9 tracks. I need to remove 10 seconds from the middle of the project (all tracks) but don't know how to accomplish this. I know how to insert time,but can't figure out how to remove.

Make sure you don't have any tracks selected. Shift-Ctrl-A will handle this nicely.
Enable Ripple Edits.
Drag a selection across the 10 seconds you wish to remove.
Press the Delete key.

If you did have any tracks selected, then the time would only be deleted from those tracks.
