How do I do an A/B/C Rollover?

Well, I can't seem to figure this one out. Doing an A/B/C (whatever) rollover in this program. I can sure do it with the linear editors, but with this...

I have a 2hr program and I want to switch between the two, but have to keep them perfectly synchronized as they are of a concert from different angles. Thanks a million for all your help!

Import your video/audio into different tracks. Set them up so that they are sicronized from the start(this will take some fiddling).Layering works top-down, meaning that if you have 3 tracks of video all at 100 opacity then your top-most video track will be the one showing. Did you put on of your three cameras on a tripod? Did you connect to a sound board so you have an excellent audio track? If you did not connect to a sound board but you did have a camera on a tripod then use that tracks audio (since the sound will remain uniform)? Select each audio track and under Edit-Group, remove the audio tracks from the groups. Now remove the audio tracks you do not want. Now select your video tracks and "split" them into the cuts you want( ie. select the tracks and type "s" when you want to Splice the track). Doing this at either end of a cut seperates that cut from the rest of the video. You are not actually cutting the tracks. You can still drag out either end of your cut to reveal more video. You can also select the cuts that you do not want and hit the "Delete" key to remove them. You will end up having three video (a,b and c) tracks and one audio track. No single track should have video on it at the same point in time as any other video track (unless you change opacity so that they show through each other,... or use masks to make that effect more interesting). Since you syncronized the tracks to begin with, the rest of your cuts (assuming you did not reposition them, but only trimmed them)should keep sync with your master audio track.

There are many ways to do this sort of thing. This might be a simple way to start.

There is actually an icon on each track that will allow you to expand one track into an A/B roll with a transition "track" in between the two. The icon is a small arrow that points down, and it is located to the right of the "Maximize Track Height" button.

Thanks a million! I forgot about splitting the video. I've done it with another program and it seems that was all I was forgetting. I knew about the "Expand Track Rolls" button and that I couldn't switch between the two at different points without splitting it, but thanks anyway for responding. I had two cameras and they were both on tripods. I connected one to the sound board, but disconnected it before the performance started because of some technical difficulties on their part. Well, it sounds easier than I thought and thanks again.

I have expanded the A/B track and put in two clips. I see the down arrow to get to the "B" clip. How do you get an up arrow to get back to the "A" clip? Thanks for what is probably an easy issue. VV3
