How do I do this in V. Movie Studio 8?

Hello,

I have some still JPEG images that I want to put into my video, though I want the images to feel like they are in motion. Is there a transition or an effect or some sort of editing tool within Vegas Movie Studio 8 that zooms in on an image while playing? Basicly what I am trying to say is, when I play my movie, the still image shows up (at its normal size), but then it starts to zoom in on the image while its playing. The image may start to get a little blurrier as its zooming in, but that doesnt matter. So how do I do this?

Chris

You use the pan/crop tool for each image (right click in the clip in the timeline), and then you setup keyframes (the little rectangles at the bottom of the pan/crop window) to make it go from one zooming point to another.

I did this video with it:

And there is another way, more complex way, to bring real motion to your images:

Hey Eugenia,

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking to do, now to give it a shot.

Google Ken Burns Effect Sony Vegas and you will find some 1.500 hints and explanations on how to do it :-)

Depending on the type of stills you show it might also add extra spice if you add some sounds (from i.e. sounddogs or soundsnaps)

Remember that you can change the pitch of the sound in Vegas by pressing + and - .
It often makes the sound fit the scene much better. My last example was sound for a snowjet (noisy machine making artificial snow) and there was no such sound on the net - so I got the sound from another machine and shifted the sound +7 - and that hit it.

Eugenia,

Could you tell me how you did the "shaded curtain" (for lack of a better description) like at the 32 second mark on the first video? Thanks!
