How do I fix it when I see the "Media Offline" message?

I'm seeing the "media offline" message on the video track, so I'm unable to see the video in the file. I tried unchecking the "Close media files when not the active application" box under Options > Preferences but that didn't work. I want to try and update the file path using the "edit details" feature that's found in View > Windows > Edit Details, but I don't have the edit details options available. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

From the ProjectMedia-Tab you can check the missing files' path and/resp. find or replace it/them.
