How do I force a Vegas Audio Folder?

Often I want to use Vegas Audio tools - mostly I use Sound Forge - but a simple echo or what not, Vegas is great.

However . . .

I want to be able to have a folder that I can keep separate from my Captured Clips folder to use as my Vegas Audio Folder. And yes each time I employ Vegas audio tools I DO get this option to select another folder - and I do. But why wont it remain as my preferred Vegas Audio "Rendered" Folder, so I can either forget about that part of the sequence in my workflow OR at that point then CHOOSE/ELLECT another? To me it seems daft that being OFFERED another folder it then wont use this AS the preferred default Vegas Audio folder - until I tell it otherwise? Being offered something, choosing it, my expectation is that the "newest" choice would be held until I might WISH to change it?

In summary, Vegas perpetually, and even AFTER requesting a different folder, offers me the same Captured clips folder. IMHO this is tedious and unnescesary, especially for my lovely Vegas! ! !

TIA

Vegas makes a mess of all things folder.
Render a clip to a folder and then Save As your project and Vegas will want to save your project to the same folder as you just rendered to.
No matter what you go to do that presents a folder option the default will be the last folder you specified. It's a PIA. When I do jobs that are over 1000 projects and renders it REALLY becomes a PIA.

Bob!

No matter what you go to do that presents a folder option the default will be the last folder you specified.

That's my point . . My Last folder I selected WAS a new folder for doing this Audio stuff. AND the next time - THE VERY NEXT TIME! - I did the SAME procedure I get shunted off to this "other" folder from whence I captured my clips. Render Audio > Select NEW Folder. Repeat process get back OLD folder.

Bob, if it stuck WITH the last folder I used to render some audio to, not a problem - that's what I said above - I would LOVE that to happen. But it don't. Your experience maybe with "other" renders. But with/for me, when I render out an Audio treatment I get booted back to the clip folder. Weird logic that I get a choice and it refuses to stay "chosen" - LOL!!!

See my point?

Anyways, I'm doing a Bezier with a map at present WITH some feathering and having 2 clips EMERGE from the map . . . I love Vegas!!

This by far the most borring behavior of Vegas. No other multimedia app i use actually works this (*stupid*) way...

I can't understand the concept behind this. One folder for everything? All projects, all files types? Nobody i know has this idiot workflow... I told this zillion of times to Vegas team without succes. At least, why not put some options in the internal pref.?

Even simpler,
why not have it remember where you last saved things?
Rendered files go here:
Project files go here:

At least one of the .net apps that uses Vegas is smart enough to do this, makes setting up batch renders just ever so much easier. Why cannot such a simple feature be implemented in Vegas itself. Even the far from complex code that I've somehow managed to write can manage this.

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto.

This drives me crazy - not just in Vegas, but in some other apps as well. It should be a simple thing to write code to remember where things were last saved to, or offer multiple default folders, depending on the file type.

Can't recall the app right off, but one I have always defaults to "My Documents" and there is no where to change the default. I NEVER capture or render to "My Documents". As Dr. Phil woud say - "What were you thinking?"

Adobe Audition has a cool feature. When you do a save or save as it presents you with a drop down list of "Recently Used Folders". That's real handy.
