How do i get a text effect with a transparent backround?

The only color that works is black.

The ones that look like they have a checkerboard background are transparent.

Try the "Show Me" button. There are several good tutorials there on how to do this.

If you are generating the text in videofactory, set the text backgound color to zero alpha, which will make the background transparent.

If you are generating the text externally (in Photoshop or whatever) make sure it has an alpha channel. If you save the file as png, VideoFactory will automatically recognize the alpha channel and give you a transparent background.
