How do I join two mp4 files

I have rendered a movie to the mp4 format. Unfortunately, I lost the project file before the job was finished. I need to add an introduction to the existing mp4 movie. When I start a new project, create the intro and then add the mp4 file to the timeline and renderer, the second part's aspect reatio is no longer 16X9, but even more 'squished'.
How do I solve this? Is there an elegant way to join two mp4 files?

You make sure your project properties is the same as in your mp4 files -- which I believe are 880x480 if it's one of these files you have exported in the past for vimeo. Use the "match media" icon.
