I need to have multiple copies of generated media: color gradient each with diferent properties. But, when I change the properties in the generated media on one track, the properties are also changed on the other tracks.
How can I set each generated media on separate tracks to unique properties?
If you Duplicate Tracks you will get this. If you Copy and Paste a GenMed event into a new track you will get this:
1/- IF you select "Create a reference to the original media".
2/- BUT you can overide this by selecting "Create a new copy of the source media"
There are other ways then improving the workflow of this type of work by going to the Project Media and then adding BACK to exsisting GenMed as TAKES. This will overide the effect you are getting AND it will allow you the further OPTION to experiment with OTHER takes and mix up the final effects too.
So Duplicating tracks will duplicate the links between tracks.
There maybe a way to un-link but not one I am aware of.
Thanks - that describes what happened - I got the effect the way I wanted it once, then made a duplicate track to make minor modifications on the second copy.
I've never used 'takes' - really haven't seen the need for it. If I have a few 'takes' I just put each on a track and mute the ones I don't want and eventuelly delete them.

YEs, you can do that. However the advantage of using TAKES is to ADD to an event AS A TAKE. Then you RIGHT click on that event go down to TAKE, and there you can SELECT the TAKE you wish! It's akinda of "Suck n See" !
So.... Youcan have a series of say 5 tracks each with an event. All these Events are "stacked" within the same time sequence. Now, if you add TAKES to the event in say track 3 and you don't like it OR you need to add a specific FX to theat TAKE all the OTHER Events and OTHER Takes aren't affected! That's what I was driving at - you adjust Events, with their own TAKES; adjust Events by SAWPPING takes between Events on separate Tracks . . . oh yes. . it just goes on and on . .and on and on .. . Now, who doesn't like Vegas?
.. Oh, by the way, have you got to grips with NEsted Timelines yet? You could even start Nested separate Veg Projects within a Top level Project and see how the whole thing works - Don't like it? Click on THAT Nested veg and up comes THAT veg ( in your caes it mught just be a single Event on one Track . .see? ) and you can then EDIT or adjust the GenMEd and SAVE and you get back your TOP level Veg project WITH the now newly adjusted EVENT! . . .just another approach to your project . .
