How do I see my key framing in Video Preview?

Cineaste wrote on 7/22/2012, 11:33 AM
When I pulled the slider to do my keyframing of pan/crop or effects in Movie Studio HD I would see the same thing in the Video Preview window. When I pull the keyframing slider in Vegas Pro 11 nothing happens in Video Preview. I can only see the results of my work afterwards when I play the video on the timeline. This really slows down my workflow.

What am I doing wrong?

(I posted this before but didn't get the response if someone gave it)

Have got the SYNC Cursor engaged?

THIS ... is where i really wish there were two separate toggle switches. The problem with Sync Cursor is that it always creates new keyframes if there isn't currently one at the cursor position. Sometimes though i just want to see a preview of what it will look like at the cursor position *without* creating a new keyframe, or i want to adjust a previous keyframe while the cursor is somewhere else.

There really needs to be two switches:
- 1) sync cursor (without creating new keyframes)
- 2) create a new keyframe on adjustment if one doesn't exist

I dunno how many times i've had sync cursor on for previewing purposes, then had to go back and delete the dozens of keyframes that were created which i didn't want.

Kelly,

I just tried this and VP11/683, at least for me, does NOT create a k/f when I toggle the sync cursor button.

Even when I move the play-head on the k/f t/l, all it does when I toggle it is it moves the k/f t/l play-head to where it is on the track.

Did I misunderstand something?

How do I engage the Sync Cursor?

Tom, try adjusting an existing keyframe's settings while the cursor is somewhere else. Instead of adjusting the existing keyframe, a new one is created at the cursor position.

Kel,

Couldn't do it. Weird.

Send me a step-by-step script off-line.
