How do I set up an External Monitor?

I have a desktop ABS computer and I'm not sure what the external monitor plugs into and how I review my video on it? I see that in the Vegas preview window you can select external monitor. Also, is it okay to use a small television set as an external monitor? Thanks for the feedback.

It connects via the firewire port. Run firewire to your camera/convertor/deck and plug the camera/convertor/deck into the TV.

Then when I click on external monitor in vegas, I can watch my video in Vegas on the external monitor? Thanks for the help.

Assuming the camera will pass-thru the signal, YES. Put the camera in VTR mode plus you *may* have to change a menu setting (required by some cameras)
