How do I stop the cursor at a particular point?

When viewing a clip, I want to have the cursor stop at that point, now where I started viewing the cursor. I've looked thru the manual and didn't see a way to do that, although it was late and may have missed it.

At the moment, I just hitting "M" to put a marker on the timeline and then going back and placing the cursor on the marker. Only problem with that is I have to remember to delete the marker.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

maybe I mis-understand - but just hit pause, instead of stop

And in case you're not sure ... spacebar is play/stop, enter is play/pause.

Well...clap on/off only works if I clap REALLY LOUD.....

Anyway, didn't know about the J,K,L, keys. Will give that a try.

Thanks !

I knew about JKL, but saw it again, with some other shortcuts, a couple days ago on YouTube -
