Select one or the other, and press "U" to ungroup them.

Option 2: toggle the toolbar switch to "Ignore Event Grouping". Be nice if there were a keyboard command to toggle this. A dead-man's switch would be best.

The group/ungroup tool leaves a lot to be desired because it doesn't distinguish between A/V grouping from within the same media file and "convenience" grouping. If, for convenience sake, I "Group all" (Shift+g) and then ungroup (ctrl+u) all my A/V linkings will be ungrouped as well as the "convenience" grouping.

I'd avoid it and just toggle the ignore event grouping switch whenever it's practical. Of course, in JBean's case he wants to "ungroup" rather than "Ignore"

Guess I'm going for "extra credit" again.

Thanks! Would be nice too if they make stuff like this easier to find.

Just as a hint, some of the features that are 'hard to find' can be found by right clicking. For example right clickling on the timeline brings up several options. Also it may be worth taking a few minutes and clicking preferencs under options. Lots of choices/changes you can make from there.
