how do you crossfade and drag all timeline?

Sorry if this is a no brainer, but when I drag a section of video to overlap a prior section to create a crossfade, all the sections after this don't move up in the timeline. How can I do this? I just discovered ripple editing, but that doesn't seem to work on this type of crossfade. Is there a good guide for us newbies that explains things such as "envelopes", "snaps", etc?

You can right-click on the clip and choose "Select to End" (I think that's the exact wording). This will keep all the clips on that layer to the right of your clip together.

Unfortunately, this will only hold on the clips together on that layer.

To grab all the clips, you'll probably do best using the Select Edit Tool (From Edit/Edit Tool) to lasso all the clips you want to move and then moving them all as a group.

Select all the events to the right of the cross fade and press the g key. That will gouup all the events so they can be moved as a group.
Hope this helps.

I don't believe you can crossfade all at once.
