I know it's a stupid question, I can do it on other programs, but I don't know on this one.
I have a 30 minute video I edited and for some reason it's a whopping 6.5 gb!!!!!!!
Why is that video so big???
I filmed it on a sony hi-8. I did do a million edits, but 6.5 gb just blows my mind.
Sounds like you rendered it to DV-AVI format so the size is as expected (approx. 13 GB/hr.).
Different render formats will give you different sizes so it all depends on what you want to do with the edited footage.
Yes it is dv avi, what should I put it on to make it much much smaller.
I remember a vid like this would be about 500mb give or take.
And the quality of those vids look the same as these dv avi vids, so I don't see a reason to have such a large file.
500mb would be at max quality, and then from there I can down size it but it would effect the quality.
That's what I'm looking for.
You hit "make movie" and then change the format.
Real Media "rm" is the smallest, that 1.5 gb video dropped down to about 15mb, but the quality was weak.
I wanted to share it online, 6.5 gb video online would take forever to download.
I ended up using mp4, this dropped the size to 44mb from 1.5 gb.
The quality was pretty good.
