How do you make a countdown timer?

I am making a film that is about 15 minutes long and I want a timer to countdown from 15 minutes till the end on the screen. Is there any way that I can make a 15 minute timer, in any program on a transparent backround, that counts down by the second all the way to 0 without making a new text overlay for each individual second?

There are any number of countdown timers available on the web, so I'd start by selecting the one you like and then recording it with a screen capture program like Camstudio. I haven't used it for a while, but it used to work ok with MS.

Turns out it still does! You can use chromakey to make the background transparent and pan & crop to size / position the counter.
