1.Optimizing for fewer drop outs?
I captured around 50 min's worth of Video and it had 4 drop outs - 2 of them dropped out at the same time span and the others dropped at different time spans. Video Factory suggested that I optimize for less drop outs... any suggestions?

2.No Help Menu?
Last but certainly not least... when I select HELP from the menu...nothing happens...no index or any options screen opens up. Does this mean I'm helpless?

1.Video Event Select?
When I add a video effect...it will add it to the entire clip...I would just like to add it to a few frames, but am lost on selecting and applying the effect exactly where I want it.

You select the area you want by clicking on the timeline which should produce a white vertical bar at the point you click. Clicking on EDIT, then "split event" should break the timeline accordingly with blue corners on either side at the top the "event" you just created indicating the range on the timeline.

You should see a new FX button in the lower right bottom of the area you split.

Drag the effect(s) to the first frame in the isolated area you just made and they will get applied to only that range.

Example: If you spilt frames 100-120 that's the range the effect will get applied to.

Once you drag some effects to the timeline the FX button for the range effected should turn green. If you leave the area you can click on that FX button to see what filter values are in effect for that range.

This method allows you apply any combination of filters to various areas of the timeline so one range of frames can have different effects then others. Very cool.

Be aware you can't use HSL on MPEG files directly, the work aound it convert to AVI first, then apply it.
