How Does Vegas Capture? (No Info in Manual)

I assume that there is a capture utility that comes with Vegas, but where can I find some info on it? I downloaded the manual -- after first downloading and reading the New Features white paper -- in order to find out more about Vegas 4, but I can find no mention of capturing in the manual.

Look for the file "vidcap40.exe". It's the capture program part of Vegas. It should be in your Vegas folder.

Assuming you have a digital camera, firewire card, you can control it from the Media Pool (camera icon) once you do a simple setup under Options/Preference/Video Device. Just set to a NTSC camera.

There is a seperate applet vidcap40.exe for video capture. You can make a shortcut to it and place on your desktop or run from within Vegas (from Media Pool). It has a seperate help menu that answers the basic questions.
