How I make Sony Vegas 6.0 work

This is the most ass backwards way of doing something but it does work. When I first started editing I went to ebay and purchased Pinnacle studio 8, I gave $10 for it. But it was limited as to what you could do. I wanted MORE So I watched videos on youtube. Seemed everyone bragged on Sony Vegas. So I got Sony Vegas studio 6.0. It is awsome as to what you can do. I learned a lot from a guy on youtube ,QSK king. But let me back up here a bit.
When I got my Sony Vegas installed onto my computer I could not get the capture card to work. NO matter what I have tried install uninstall , free up space Nothing worked. BUT it did does work with the Pinnacle studio 8. Seems my capture card is to old for Sony Vegas. ATI all in wonder 128 pro. You have to check there list of capture cards they recommend to work. Well that suxs...
I capture video thur the Pinnacle Studio then save it as a file and then opening it in Vegas. It works but it is kind of difficult. Awhile back I bought a new top of the line digital camera and it makes movies. However it uses the DIVIX software. And Vegas does not support this. So I got pissed my new camera will not work with the Sony Vegas I purchased. And it will not work with the Pinnacle Studio.
However the camera has its own software. Something called ACDsee 2.0 for Pentax Optio A10 . After buying all this and nothing was working I said to the hell with it.
Then I bought a DVD / VHS recorder. So I could record my shows on TV. So here is what I do , I take my camera and video something. Then down load it into the compute and watch it on windows media player. My capture card has a plugs on it so you can watch on another monitor. So I set the computer up for a second monitor. Then run the cables into the DVD / VHS recorder. Now I can record what ever is playing on the computer. I watch everything on Windows media player full screen. And it looks pretty good.
Now I burn this onto a DVD-r . Then I go back and uninstall the stuff for the computer, my cables and the second monitor.
On the back of the DVD recorder is a coax cable your suppse to run to the TV. I put a splitter there and ran one end into a TV and the other goes to the capture card. So now I can watch my video on the computer using the Pinnacle Studio software. Then save it as a AVI file. Afterwards go back and open in Sony Vegas and do my editing. Once finished I render it as a wmv. Then watch it on the windows movie media , full screen and record the finished movie. I do not know why but I have not been able to get the DVD -rw in the computer to work. I know this is ass backwards way of doing things. But it does works I have made several home movies and even posted some on youtube. I hope this will help.
