How is Vegas 4 so far?

Hi all!
I was just reading through several posts off, and on
this week while anxiously anticipating delivery of my
new Vegas4 +DVDA, and I was wondering, what's the overwhelming
response for those who are already using the full version?

Is it as solid as ver. 3.0?
Does it seem buggy at all?

i simply love vegas, and look forward to a long relationship
with Sofo's products for years to come, also this is one of
the best forums I've ever found for any product.

Thanks for any, and all responses

KPITRL,

Vegas 4 is rock solid here, using WinXP. Great upgrade all around. The first new feature I've had time to explore a bit are the 2 new color correctors, which give you enormous control.

Just burnt my first DVD with DVD Architect a couple nights ago. The first time it finished rendering all the files in the temp directory I pointed it to, it crashed my system (ie WinXP just blinked and restarted). Not sure what the problem was, or even if it was directly related to DVDA or not. I repeated the exact same steps (imported the same MPG etc) and everything worked fine. The Memorex DVD-R burned with a Pioneer AO4 has thus far played in Win. Media player 8, PowerDVD, a settop DVD player and an X box.

My mom won't buy 4 until i download the beta. Where can i do this...and what's the strongest argument to convince her adobe premier is definitely the lesser product
when compared to vegas.

EPymp, Academic Version just came out on Academic Superstore. If you're a student, like I am, you should take advantage of this great deal. $149.99 !!!

I'm not sure if this is any different from the standard version. Can anybody answer that one for me?

Mom's smart.

Unfortunately, the beta (test period) is finished and the product is shipping. However, you can still download the DEMO version, which is identical to the shipping version except you can't do a few things. The Demo is crippled slightly, so you will actually buy it after you try it. You can still do just about everything you need to try it out.

Go to DOWNLOADS on this site and look it up.

Reasons: Smoother Workflow, doesn't crash constantly, easier learning curve, high level of quality, more modern interface, better support, more capable in some important areas, unlimited number of tracks, integrated major audio editing and tailoring capabilities, less expensive, a fantastic pre-render and render assembly function, and one heck of a lot better Forum (right here).

If you are a student, and it sounds a bit like you might be, definitely get the Academic version. It is absolutely identical in all ways except one: Price.

I think the student version is the same product ....only cheaper & you aren't allowed to use it commercially.
