How long should green screen rendering take?

I've just completed a project using a CK background. The DVD was 90 minutes long and rendering took 36 hours on my 32 bit dual core laptop with VP9c. Two questions:
1 Does this time seem about right?
2 Would the rendering be quicker on a quad core 64 bit machine? If so, then how much
(just a guess will do)?

More processor HP = faster rendering. It's a linear slope.

How much of the 90-minutes is green-screen keyed? If it's the whole thing, then yes, I would expect a very long render, or compression, because every frame has to be composited.

There are lots of stills inserted as well. Will a 64bit machine render faster?

About 3 yrs. ago, I did a 10 min. project (mostly CK and a lot of other FX) that took 3 hr. to render on a P4 3.4 GHz machine.
My quad core rendered the same video in 27 min. so about a 6:1 reduction in time.
