how make music available

I have filmed a concert of my wife's symphonic orchestra. I will turn the movie into one or more mp3 files (high quality) and would like to make them available for the other members of the orchestra - and you, if you like. Sony's own acidplanet limits the quality to 128bitrate mp3.
Does anybody know of a legal site where the quality is better, and where interested people can easily download the mp3s?

128 is generally considered high enough quality for music. If you just used the camcorder mic (as opposed to seperate external mics properly placed in front of the orchestra .. or a sound feed from the audio board) then 128 would be good enough.

You are interested in a "legal" site to post these files .. but is it legal for you to be doing this at all?

brighterside makes a good point: the quality of the original recording will limit the quality of the output. You should be able to see the bitrate of the audio by clicking on the film clip in the explorer within Vegas; the status line will tell you the audio quality level.

That said, it is my understanding that it can't hurt to output it to a higher bitrate file. While the average person can't tell much difference above 128kbps, someone playing in a symphony orchestra might be able to...

Thanks for the input. I have used sony's acidplanet. I first had to upload the music files in wma format, but then I can upload mp3 files (which I actually didn't do). File size is limited to 20MB, so Beethoven's 7th symphony needed to be cut in 4 parts.

About the legal side: I have the permission of the musicians and the conductor, and they used official sheet music. Don't know what I can do more. (I don't think Beethoven will return from the grave!)
