Hi Kids -
Just finished my first major project in Vegas. Final product is 3:21 in length.
I was using nested projects three levels deep (main.veg includes midlevel.veg which includes bot1.veg, bot2.veg, bot3.veg and bot4.veg, along with a couple of normal tracks - All the bot files are just two-four video tracks). The total time for the midlevel.veg is 0:11 (11 seconds). I am using both pan/crop as well as track motion in most places (about 12 keyframes per track), along with chroma key and very little else.
I found that Vegas was having a heck of a time rendering main.veg to MPEG2 directly, it took about two hours before I finally canceld the render (was on the same frame for over 20 minutes). I found that if I rendered midlevel.veg to an AVI file (took about 40 minutes) and included that instead of the .veg file, the final rendering of main.veg to MPEG2 took about 30 minutes.
Is it not a good idea to nest multiple levels or is it just this project?
Thanks.
Bruce
