How should we know? maybe it's a good start if you ask sonicfoundry how many users are registered here then maybe how many copies have been sold online and retail....I still don't see anyway we could know...aprox? well maybe 10000 in the states? maybe much more or less ???who knows?!?!?

Sonic Foundry prolly knows the exact number: everytime you start vegas the program tries to connect to to stats.sonicfoundry.com. Wouldn't be difficult for them to do a simple recount.

That feature is easy to turn off and wouldn't count me anyway - my editing machine isn't connected to the internet.

In any case, Sonic Foundry would know the number of licenses sold. This may or may not be information they are willing to divulge.

We don't "count" the number of users this way. This simply connects to our site to see if there are any new updates, etc. This is called "NetNotify", and it can indeed be disabled in the preferences. I don't know what the exact number of registered users is, but I would guess that it is in the thousands.

If it's not just curiosity maybe you could tell us why you are asking.
