sry for the crazy type but this subject line limit is a real downer.

Anywho, just wondering how many of you do this - My laptops only got 1 4 pin 1394 port and I am seeing a bit of trouble with USB connections all of a sudden, so what's the sitch?

Is it done? is it done often? is it done successfully?

daisy chaining 1394 disk drives works great. With a couple of 1394 drives, the camera is the last in the chain. Done this for over 3 years, no problems. If your laptop disk drive is small and slow <4800rpm and under 256m memory , cpu <1.4g, you may have drop frames. There are great and cheap 1394 and combo PC Cards for laptops that have extra ports if you do not want to daisy chain the camera.

Good to know - Lame laptops isn't a prob for me - 3.2 P4 HT 60 GB 7200 RPM and 1 GB Ram

just wanted to make sure it wasn't a going to be a prob.
