Well, my opinion is I dont care how long it takes as long as its done correctly. They rushed once and it degraded the quality of the product. I would much rather they take their time and make sure its done right.
C'mon guys... PHOTOSHOP crashes every once in a while.
If you'd rather wait for a "finished" program, you are going to miss out on a heck of a lot of improvements... and some of them are great.
Every time my old AVID came out with an upgrade, we KNEW it meant months of crashing and aggravation - where's that old pioneering spirit - ya' know crossing the rivers in wagons and stuff?
But if that's the way you want it - that's what verison 4 is about... :>)
Maybe they should not have release it until the major bugs were fixed. You just hate spending your money for something and then have to wait unitl its fixed to really benefit from the the new features.
Again I said I'm just venting; I'd rather wait for all the bugs to be fixed.

You dont believe that or you wouldnt be using Microsoft Windows.
Bugs are a part of life. It will get fixed, just be patient. I am sure when they are fixed, everyone will be much happier :)

Umm. I really like my favorite software companies to be better than some of our one-source vendors.
When I was working for a company where I was writing software, I caused some problems because I kept finding and reporting new problems as the new product was past our part in official movement to "final burn".
I'd like to think the software guys in Madison really do want us to have a bug-free product and are willing to test all reports, try their best to reproduce the problems with more than one reporter and fix them.
I haven't yet purchased V6 but I probably will before my reduced-price offer expires, however that will not be a vote of confidence. From these forums it sounds like there are lots of quirks with the basic functionality of the product that need a new version. I hope the biggest bugs get fixed soon, but I also hope there is an ongoing effort to fix all the bugs in the current version, rather than just ignoring them and moving on to development of the next version.
Maintenance and analysis of problems with the current version, ** and fixing them for current licensed owners **, is the kind of behaviour that I like to see from my vendors. It takes a person or two with special talents who diligently and with special knowledge tries to guess what or why and reproduce problems.
I was one once. For some reason, in the first few minutes of testing a new product, I would often break it. Hope you can find a devil's-advocate person there to help insuring your new products are good and also keep active in finding and identifying bugs in the current products. I know they don't deliberately avoid fixing issues, but the product engineers are not normally the best advocates for customer issues. You need a separate, but knowledgeable and trained engineer who will try to follow and reproduce these reported quirks in the product.
From the sound of what I have heard in these forums, the engineers are trying their best to pay attention to what is being reported here. This is good. I am not getting the impression that there is a very knowledegable individual or two who has the job of reproducing or identifying customer reported problems. This would be better.
