Is it correct that all menus (and associated graphics) are limited to a single VOB - and thus one gig? If so, how can I tell how much space my menus are using? (So far everything works with 343 menu pages, each with its own background graphic. But I want to add twice that much more.)
DVDArchitect probably doesn't have any reliable way of telling you. It's size estimates are notoriously off, and also will only show you the composite total for everything on the DVD, not just the menus.
Probably the only way to get a reliable figure is to do a Prepare, then go look at the size of the resulting VTS_01_0.VOB file (assuming of course that your menus appear in the disc structure before content video).
If your menus are primarily text and still graphics then you'll probably hit the limit of number of menu items before you'll run out of disc space.
Thanks. I just figured out that all of the menus should be in VTS_01_0.VOB. Right now it is under 100MiB. Chienworks, do you know what the limit on number of menu items is? That is likely to be my limiting factor. I'd like to get at least 9 lessons per DVD and I have assembled three so far. (Total space used so far is about 1.2GB so I am hoping that I don't run out of menus first.)
