How pan/crop the entire track?

Hi all! :)

I'm new on editing and Vegas, now editing some trailers to practicise and transforming then to 30" videos...

So, I have to adjust them to a new format (240x180 to 160x120)... I do a crop/pan in one of the sliced pieces of my track, but I have to repeat it on each piece I wanna the event and set it all again...

Now I know what wrong I do. I have to do the crop before I start to slice my track... but I left it last. :(

Do I'm doing it the hard way? Has another way to do it more easy?

Tks for all! :)

Set your pan/crop on one event. Right click on that event and select Copy. Then, select all the other clips on the track, right click and Paste Event Attributes.

Why not use track motion and copy the keyframes to whichever portions of the track you need to?

berenberen, I am not familiar to these terms, sorry... How do I do that? Copy the keyframes? Track motion?

I'm facing the program for the first time today. My only practicise are with soundforge and acid pro, and with these just a little expertise... :)

But I learn fast. Hope soon I'm talking with you and all others in the same level... :)

Btw, tks for your help too! :)))

Do a search for Track Motion in the help file. You could put all clips you want the size change applied to on a separate track and set the size for the entire track in one step.

This would work, but what happens if you insert events, split events, trim events, shuffle events, etc.? Wouldn't the track motion, relative to each event, get changed?

I think the approach given by StrongDotGuy would result in fewer problems during subsequent edits.

That's why I would put them all on a separate track WITHOUT keyframes.

The button that locks envelopes to events also locks track level keyframes to events, so inserting stuff later is not a problem.

Bertelli: what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to crop all the events the same amount? Will the settings of some events be different than others? Are you panning too, or only cropping?

Bertelli: To elaborate: If all you're doing is cropping the same amount from every event, then all you need to do is set one keyframe at the beginning of the track, using track motion, and you're done. You don't have to cut and paste anything. If every event is different, you'll have to use one of the suggestions here.
