Every burner that works with CD Architect is listed on the following link:

http://www.sonicfoundry.com/cdarchitect/drvsupp.asp

If it is not on the list, it may not work properly.

You may want to use the MMC driver in CD architect on your HP burner that you have now and see if you are successful burning. The MMC driver is a multi driver that is supported by all MMC Compliant drives. So I'm willing to bet if your older HP drive works with that driver, then chances are a newer HP drive would also work using that driver.

Good Luck, thus far I'm sticking with my Plextor 8/20 drive that is supported by CD architect. It's the best and fastest of the supported drives and 8X is pretty quick for me.

To paraphrase Ted, if it's not on the list, it's not certain to work. It's not impossible, but newer drives not on the list are NOT supported by us.
